The name

A name that carries a method

The Janneau name has been part of the story of Armagnac, the oldest eau-de-vie in France, since the mid-nineteenth century, when Pierre-Étienne Janneau founded the house in Gascony. Five generations of the family carried it forward, on patience, on the slow work of the cellar, and on one conviction in particular: that the finest armagnac comes from blending eaux-de-vie of different origins into a single whole, rather than keeping them apart.

I did not choose the name for the label. I chose it because it describes how I work.

A fine armagnac is never a single vintage. It is assembled over years, from casks of different ages and origins, by someone who knows the terroir and takes responsibility for the final blend. An operating model is the same: finance, operations, compliance and risk, brought into one coherent whole by someone who understands it all and owns the result.

Armagnac Consulting carries the name because it carries the method: depth over speed, judgment over noise, unity over silos, and full accountability for what leaves the cellar.

Vault AM. Built the business unit from zero as sole operator. Drove 80M in execution volume in Year 1; first client mandates secured.
Kartesia. Built operational infrastructure from scratch; supported 20+ transactions in the first year; licensed AIFM within 12 months.
Blackstone. Full turnaround after team collapse, ending in a "no findings" inspection. Enabled 3 to 4bn of post-Brexit fundraising.
